What is the Gold Country Montana Master Gardener Association

We are certified Montana Master Gardeners of all levels that have formed an Association to continue the camaraderie and friendships built while going through the Master Gardener classes together, and to develop the interests we all share as Master Gardeners. 


We invite and welcome new and current Master Gardeners, as well as anyone who supports sound gardening practices, to join the Association!

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Voting Members

Those who have achieved certification (as acknowledged by the Montana Master Gardener program) as a Level 1 or higher Montana Master Gardener.

Nonvoting Members

  • Montana Master Gardener students who have not passed the exam and/or completed their volunteers hours (or who are currently enrolled in classes)
  • Master Gardeners graduating from programs in states other than Montana, or
  • Members of the general public who understand and endorse the mission and purpose of the GCMMGA


Nonvoting members may participate in all discussions, however, they have no voting rights, may not make or second motions, and cannot hold officer positions.

What is the Mission and Purpose of the GCMMGA?

Mission Statement

The mission of the Gold Country Montana Master Gardener Association is to support the Montana Master Gardener program in its efforts to provide public education in gardening and environmental stewardship that is generated from unbiased, research-based data from the Montana State University Extension or other extension systems, through education, communication and advocacy.

Our Purpose

-- Provide resources to Montana Master Gardener program students and graduates to:

  • Assist in achieving certification by providing volunteer opportunities; and
  • Once certified, provide quality continuing education, and meaningful service, volunteer, networking and mentoring opportunities.


-- Support the Montana Master Gardener program by providing unbiased, research-based information about consumer horticulture to people in all Montana communities


-- Offer support/service to MSU Extension Agents in Broadwater, Jefferson/Madison, Lewis and Clark, Meagher, and Powell Counties, as well to their local Master Gardener programs

      What is the Cost of Membership, What's Included?

      Your Membership in the GCMMGA is $25 per household (two people in the same household).

      • Lifetime Membership (once a member, always a member)
      • GCMMGA Members who had paid membership prior to 12/31/23 will be grandfathered in
      • Household constitutes two individuals living in the same residence


      Your Membership includes:

      • First notice of and opportunity to register for GCMMGA educational and networking events
      • Member discount on educational and network events (if a different fee is charged for nonmembers the event)
      • Invitation to member-only events (such as our membership appreciation picnic), most of these events are free to members

      How Do I Join (or Renew My Membership)?

      • To pay with a credit/debit card (*Preferred Method*)


      To submit the Membership Application, you must follow these steps exactly:

      (no Membership Application is needed for renewals, simply pay by Square)


      1. Open the pdf version of the Membership Form below and enter the information requested.
      2. Download and save the form "with your changes" to your computer.
      3. Return to the saved version on your computer and click the box: "Click to Submit Completed Form". 
      4. You will be rerouted through your email provider to submit the form to the GCMMGA via email.


      Instead of clicking to submit, you can print/scan

      and email the form to: goldcountrymastergardener@gmail.com 

      or send it hard copy to the address below.


      • For payment: Please visit our Square payment portal at: bit.ly/GCMMGADues. 
        • You will be assessed the $1 Square processing fee (but you're saving a stamp and trees!)


      • To pay by check 
        • Open the pdf version of the Membership Form below and enter the information requested.
        • Print the completed form and mail with your check for $25 made payable to:
